URBAN MELODIES
Through his multiple exposure and urban photography Trerotoli creates, superimposing several pictures, abstract representations of cities like Rome, New York, Paris and others. Alessio Trerotoli’s project Urban Melodies tries to captivate viewers with a unique perspective on the rhythm and harmony found within the bustling cityscape. Through a blend of photography and artistic expression, Trerotoli transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary, unveiling the hidden melodies that resonate in the urban environment. Therefore, each image tells a story of movement, contrast, and emotion. They invite the audience to explore the intricate symphony of life that unfolds in the heart of the city. In other words, Urban Melodies is a visual journey that goes beyond the surface, revealing the beauty and complexity of our modern urban landscapes.
In addition, Urban Melodies series tries to fill the gap between the place that we visited and the place that we remember. Our memories are not clear or defined, they are blur, sometimes confused, full of different layers of emotions, sensations, people, thoughts. All these layers, like these images, try to fix Trerotoli’s memories in his multiple exposure urban photography.
“I try to feed my inspiration walking every day like a sort of modern flâneur, in my city or when I’m in travel. In my life I always try to look for something beautiful around me. If in my Urban Melodies you can find beauty in a traffic jam or in a building in ruin, maybe it’s possible to find beauty everywhere. Once I read a quote that is perfect: Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not”.
